Three Billy Goats Gruff          Listen here!

G
Three little billy goats,

D7
Three little billy goats,

G               D7            G
Three little billy goats gruff.

              D7                       G                  D7
Everyday they ran and played upon a grassy knoll,

G                       D7                       G      D          G
but one day the grass was low so it was time to go.

g                                                             D7               g
The trouble was the greener grass was on the other side,

D7                          g                    D7                    g
across a bridge and underneath a hungry troll did hide.

                                                       D7                           g
He saw the goats and licked his lips and thought, “It's time to eat.”

D7                                 g                          D                  g
The goats were smart, they made a plan and readied to defeat.

G                    D7             G
First came the littlest billy goat.

Trip-trap, trip-trap,

“Who's that trip-trapping over my bridge?”

   D7     G
"I’m the littlest billy goat.

C         G              D7
Eat my brother instead.

               G                C
He is older and bigger than I,

D7        G
and will keep you fed."

The troll licked his lips and let him pass.

Trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap.

                D7        G
Then came the second billy goat.

Trip-trap, trip-trap,

“Who's that trip trapping over my bridge?”

   D7        G
"I’m the second billy goat.

C         G             D7
Eat my brother instead,

                G               C
He is older and bigger than I,

D7                        G
And will keep you fed."

The troll licked his lips and let him pass.

Trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap.

               D7           G
Then came the third and biggest billy goat.

Trip-trap, trip-trap,

"Who's that trip-trapping over my bridge?"

G         D7         G
"I'm the biggest billy goats!

D7                        G
Come and eat me troll!"

g                                                         D7               g
The troll crept up onto the bridge and much to his surprise

D7                    g                               D7                   g
The billy goat gave one big kick and the troll met his demise.

G
Trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap, trip-trap,

G
Three little billy goats,

D7
Three little billy goats,

G              D7              G
Three little billy goats gruff.

               D7                  G                        D7
Everyday they run and play upon their grassy knoll.

G                            D7                                 G        D7   G
When they have to cross that bridge, there will not be a troll
